Robin was alone, alone with the sounds of his hushed breathing within the gym. He punched! he kicked and he continued doing so with such ferocity that the punching bag he was hitting may actually fall of it's hinges. There was no one in the gym which was good, Robin liked to train alone and hell he didn't know who else trained in the gym at 4'o'clock in the morning! well normally people wouldn't be allowed in at this time but Robin was friends with the owner of this place, again Robin began a mixed series of martial art tecnhiques on the bag, his fists pounding into the bag creating a strong sound with every hit.
The strong warrior that had always been seen a geek and goodie goodie stopped as he bent forward slightly panting. sweat was covering his forehead and his bare torso, clothes always restricted what someone could do but luckily Robin was still modest about where trousers and such, it was just his t-shirt and jacket he had off at the moment that exposed his torso. After a few seconds of breathing space he was at it again, criss cross chip, overhead kick, roundhouse and all the martial arts moves you could think of suddenly sprang at the punching bag in a wild frenzy.
In just a few days time he would be leaving for a bit of a break and he seriously needed it or atleast his commanding officer told him, Robin tried to neglect the offer but it was ordered onto him, Robin was a bit of a workaholic and put work before himself or personal health.

Shannon entered the gym; her short blonde hair was tied back into a small pony tail. She was wearing a tight pair of blue gym shorts and a matching blue crop top. One wouldn’t have thought Shannon an early bird but she much preferred to come to the gym at this late hour than when it was full of over weight people who sweated all over her. She was lucky that her boyfriend’s best friend worked nights here so she could get in and out without being bothered by anyone.
She waved at Mark who was sat behind the reception desk and went straight through into the ladies changing rooms to dump her bags. Anyone who knew Shannon well knew how obsessed she was a keeping fit, ever since tenth grade she had been a functioning bulimic and had always worried about her weight. Although she had given up her job in Ballet and had earned her money by conning it out of Boone, she had never been able to get out of the routine of keeping her body in shape. Taking a towel out of her bag she entered the large gym, she was surprised to see that she wasn’t alone, usually at this time it was just her and the few people manning the desks.
Her blue eyes scanned the man for a minute as she walked over to the large bar that ran along next to the mirror. He was certainly well built and had a nice six pack going for him, she smiled to herself before taking her right leg and placing it on the bar starting to warm up her leg muscles. As she did this she thought of the events that had occurred yesterday, Boone had arrived after her rather dramatic phone call to him claiming that she was being abused by her boyfriend. Shannon knew that now he had seen the large purple bruise that was still visible on her forehead he would cough up some money for her and her boyfriend. She found it rather amusing that he still came with money to bail her out of difficult situations; you would have thought he’d have given up by now but she knew he never would leave her when she was in trouble. Why you ask? Because he loved her and she was using this love to get what she needed. At times she felt bad using Boone, but when she remembered what his mother had done to her all feelings of guilt soon evaporated.

Robin suddenly stopped as he noticed a girl walked in and she sure had an athletic body the fighter pilot thought to himself, she looked strong but that was just Robin's observation which he quickly realized what he was doing and turned back to his punching bag blushing slightly hoping that if she had noticed that she would think he was checking her out, he may of done but that was not his intention. Robin pushed the thoughts of the girl away but he was still suprised by the fact she was here, four o'clock, oh well i guess there's always someone who likes train early in the morning.
With a few more specific punches and kicks he decided for a final finale so he could rest for minute or two, with grace like a gymnastist he jumped up twirling his body like a dolphin and swung his leg outwards and spun his body around quickly, his strong foot connected with the punching bag but after a second the punching bag had given in and it went flying off it's hinges and sliding across the gym floor until hitting the wall with a hard bang. "Oops" Robin muttered to himself quietly as he stood up from the floor where he had landed on his feet and hands. He then looked guiltily at the bag hoping he wouldn't get into trouble.

Shannon watched herself in the mirror as she continued with her stretches, her blue eyes gazed at the purple bruise on her forehead, it was a constant remind of what she was doing to Boone. The main draw back of this charade was that she had to lie to her friends around her, sometimes she said she had hit her head slipping in the shower, other times she said she’d had a small car accident. Which ever she used she felt like they didn’t believe her and she worried they might uncover her secret.
She glanced over to the man who was also using the gym and watched as he made an impressive move. Shannon could appreciate when someone was good at Martial arts, being into ballet she understood the training that went into these things. Taking her leg off the bar and switching legs she watched with amusement as he broke the hinge on the boxing bag.
She smiled to herself removing her leg from the bar she approached him pushing the short strands of hair that had escaped from her pony tail out of the way. “I wouldn’t worry” she said with a smile “Those hinges where meant to be replaced months ago”. Shannon leant against the wall and surveyed him, he wasn’t bad looking at all…in fact he was rather good looking. She gave him a coy smile and looked at the floor, “How some you’re here so late..or early?” she asked glancing back up at him with interested eyes.
Shannon was very good at the female game; she knew how to get on with males and generally could make friends with them easily. Those who she couldn’t she didn’t bother with at all.

Robin turned his body to face the source of the woman's voice who had just spoken to him. Now that she was closer to him he unconsiously checked her out a little more but it was unconsious that it could simply of been seen as him looking at the ground and then at the cieling or looking at the wall behind the woman. "Oh well that's good to hear, maybe i should of came here a month ago and knocked it down then. Well atleast the whoever was bringing the new bags has an exscuse to get off there lazy asses" he joked with a smile.
"Technically it's early" Robin half corrected for the girl as she inquired about his time of being here. "I like to train either really late or really early, less people which means more peace and quiet" he told the girl with a warm smile. The ever so great Robin had noted the slight look he had gotten from Shannon but took no heed from it as he glanced at the floor and then back at Shannon.
The young fighter pilot then sent a few electrons down to his legs and got them moving, he walked over to the woman keeping a respectful distance and spoke "I'm Robin Star" and stuck out his hand slowly for a handshake while keeping his face polite and friendly.
